Mike and I met online. We talked for a few weeks before meeting in person. For anyone who has dated online before, you know that meeting the person you've been talking to in person is incredibly nerve wracking and awkward. So, as expected, the first 5 minutes were super weird, but after that, it felt like we had known each other for years. He took me to Mahoneys in Buzzards Bay for our first date and everything was going well until he pulled the "I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back" stunt. Any woman knows, that is how you get out of an awkward situation...you just go to the bathroom and sneak out and no one will ever know. Well, apparently, that was not Mike's plan. I obviously overreacted internally. He returned and we continued to have a great time. We ended the night with a long (very very cold) walk on the canal, and yes I was dramatic over the weather the entire time. I thought for sure, after that first date he wouldn't want to see me again.
