Damon knew that it'd be tough to surprise Karema, so to he enlisted help from a few of her close friends to help arrange a romantic proposal. On January 30, 2019, a cold, and random, winter evening, Damon set the mood in Karema’s dining room with dozens of roses, candles, string lights, champagne, and photos of the two hanging throughout. This effort required a clandestine approach to avoid ruining the surprise, including a duck and cover approach to entry/exit to avoid the home security cameras.
