Jaime Sanborn and Trey Pamer's Wedding Website
Every spring my sorority hosts a charity flag football tournament, and the fraternities would team up with different sororities and spend weeks coaching us in preparation (at Mount, ANY type of football is a big deal!!). Well in the spring of 2017, my sorority had asked the brothers of Sigma Nu to be our coaches. Trey, being the social butterfly and lover of football, he was, had volunteered to be a coach with a few of his other brothers. A month of practices went by, and we talked here and there as friends, but nothing more. The night before the big tournament I had a falling out with the guy I was talking to at the time. At any other time, it wouldn’t have been that big of a deal except two weeks later was my sorority’s spring formal and I had already said I was bringing a date! Well, the football tournament came and went (and I dominated of course!) But then, my focus turned to who would be my date. Kind of desperate, I asked Jake (who was a friend of mine due to going to high school with me and dating my sister at the time) if any of his fraternity brothers would be free and want to go to the dance as my date on short notice. Well, Jake asked around and told me that three of his brothers would have a great time and would love to go, (spoiler alert, one of them was Trey). Now I had options!! I knew of Trey because we had had a class together earlier that school year (Religions of the World, kind of a snooze). His focus in that class though seemed to always be on the two girls he sat between, and I even swore he told me once he had a crush on one of them. But I do remember during that class taking note of how cute and fun he was and developing a small crush. It wasn’t until after my sorority’s mixer with Sigma Nu to thank them for coaching that I made my decision on who I would ask to the dance. I vividly remember watching Trey play Just dance with his separated shoulder and thinking that I would have the best time with him! So after I got back from my basketball game on Wednesday, I had Jake let me into the fraternity house, I found Trey, and I asked him with pizza and wings that said, “I don’t want to be CHEESE-y, so I’ll just WING it, will you go to formal with me”. And no surprise, he said yes! (What guy doesn’t like food!?) Fast forward to formal, he came over and we pre-gammed with games and blue Jell-O shots (leading to our favorite picture of us at the dance sticking our blue tongues out to match our outfits)! We had a great night of non-stop laughter and dancing. I just felt comfortable straight away with him. After the dance was over, we both decided we wanted to hang out some more, so we went back to Jakes room at Sigma Nu and just hung out before a JUKO party that night at one of the other frats. At one point, we were both sitting on opposite ends of the couch with Jake in between, both texting him about the other. I distinctly remember texting Jake, “Crap, I think I like him!”. Welp, after that, Jake got up, left the room and Trey and I were forced to talk. Thus began us as we are today! The more I got to know him, the more I fell for him. Trey was and remains to this day my best friend. He never fails to make me smile or laugh, he never fails to show and/or tell me how much he loves me each and every day. He really is just a good, genuine man. I am so lucky that God willed us together in a pretty random way, but I wouldn’t change growing up with him these past 6 years for anything! I can’t wait to marry him and continue growing our life together <3.
