Since that day, Matthew has proved it over and over. From November 2015 on, we have consumed more sushi, drank more wine, and eaten more ice cream than we probably should. We would spend all day texting and all night watching family feud or re-runs of the walking dead (his choice). Finally, in May of 2016 at my college graduation party, I asked him how I was supposed to introduce him to my family. His response was, you can tell them I am your boyfriend. September 2020, on our annual family trip to North Carolina, Matthew proposed. During our usual family photos, he asked me to take a "titanic picture". I stood there arms out wide waiting for him to join me. After a few seconds I turned around and he was on his knee. From May 2016 to today, we have added two four-legged children to our family, Ellie & Waylon. We have traveled to Chicago, Maine, Florida, North Carolina, and cruised the Caribbean. We bought our first home, started new adventures and careers, and now, we're planning a wedding. Looking back at our cheesy cliche love story, I feel like Matthew and I were always meant to be. He always told me, "good things come to those who wait", and that has proven true for this life we are building!
